99% of websites and social media related to sports betting often fall into two categories: Tout Operations, or Context-Free Picks. Many sites exist simply to funnel victims to their touting and pick selling scams like lambs to the slaughter. Other sports betting sites exist simply for the user to give out their picks without any context, rhyme or reason as to why they are making the picks other than what their "gut" tells them. Both of these types of sites only talk about their wins, ignore their losses, and have no way to track their long term records. I recognized there was a major void in terms of sports betting content online that wasn't a tout scam, and actually sought to give out helpful advice and insights.
I specialize betting on Major League Baseball, College Football, and College Basketball via complex analytical models. I also have experience building out models for the NBA and WNBA. One of Sports Betting Truth's core principles is only to talk about sports you know. Many touts and pick peddlers bet dozens of different sports, claiming to be experts in all of them. I think it is better to specialize in a small number of sports and focus heavily on them rather than spread yourself thin. I also believe its best to not act like you are an expert at something you actually are not an expert in. This is why I do not talk a lot about sports outside of my specialty, however, I do believe many concepts in sports betting transcend sports and can be applied regardless of sport.
My name is William Leiss and I have an extensive background in sports analysis. I could read box scores at 4 years old and in 2nd grade I ran a fantasy baseball league at school. I built my first model at age 17 with a college basketball ELO based model. I played football at TCU from 2008-2010 and was on the 2011 Rose Bowl Champion team. After graduation I developed models for MLB, WNBA, and College Football in 2012 and College Basketball in 2013 when living in Las Vegas. I built an NBA model in 2016, and rebooted my College Football/College Basketball Models in 2017 which have posted a season long profit all 3 seasons since refreshing. I am currently finishing up development on my newest MLB model set to debut in August for the 2020 shortened season. I currently live in San Diego, CA.
